Operations Specialist – Customs Brokerage, Global Logistics

Overview

In this role, you will oversee EU customs brokerage operations to support cross-border exports for Amazon’s global network. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external brokers to ensure compliant, timely performance and scalable processes. You will lead program work to improve trade compliance, manage broker performance, and support onboarding and peak-period planning. This opportunity combines hands-on operations with strategic oversight in a fast-paced, startup-like culture.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day performance of multiple Customs Brokers (on-time performance, defect rate, cost per unit)
• Ensure brokers adhere to operating standards and that volumes align with commercial agreements
• Maintain compliance with external/internal trade regulations and policies across cross-border networks
• Lead Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with brokers and senior management
• Identify at-risk operations and develop contingency plans to minimize failures
• Troubleshoot defects with internal stakeholders and optimize processes
• Coordinate peak-period plans with brokers and provide on-site support as needed
• Support onboarding of new brokers and product launches that add value for customers and Amazon

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Experience working across cross-functional teams and across all levels in an organization
• Experience in e-commerce/online companies in fraud/risk control functions
