Senior Business Analyst

Overview

As a Senior Business Analyst in the CIO team, you guide change across complex initiatives, translating business needs into clear requirements and deliverables. You’ll partner with business and tech groups to shape solutions that improve customer and colleague outcomes. You’ll coach other BAs, manage senior stakeholders, and ensure high-quality delivery through strong analysis and documentation. This role offers a chance to influence critical insurance projects at scale within a collaborative, innovation-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis across large-scale projects and multiple initiatives from initiation to delivery
• Evaluate end-to-end processes and define requirements, maps, and user stories
• Translate complex requirements into clear specifications with Solution Architects and delivery teams
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement to gather requirements and align on options
• Manage analysis deliverables, scope, dependencies, risks, and backlog readiness for PI planning
• Review and refine defects and artefacts to ensure clarity and delivery-readiness
• Provide line management, coaching, and mentoring to BAs and Junior BAs
• Drive quality and best practices across the BA community

Key requirements

• Strong BA experience leading analysis across complex change
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with risk/opportunity identification
• Proven ability to elicit and document requirements, maps, and user stories
• Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management (Head of, Director level)
• Experience in Agile environments (SAFe) with understanding of waterfall delivery
• Experience leading/coaching BAs and driving quality of analysis deliverables
• Familiarity with Jira, Octane or equivalent (beneficial)
• Knowledge of General Insurance, Guidewire, digital journeys, data, automation or SQL (advantageous)
