Oracle OCI Multi Cloud Engineer

Overview

As an experienced OCI and multi-cloud engineer, you architect, deliver, and operate Oracle-focused cloud solutions across OCI and major hyperscalers. You will blend Oracle database and EBS administration with cloud architecture to support data centre exits and migrations, delivering secure, scalable landing zones. You act as a trusted technical advisor, translating complex requirements into practical designs and guiding delivery across multi-vendor environments. This role combines hands-on engineering with governance, pre-sales input, and cross-functional collaboration to drive value.

Responsibilities

• Act as Solution Architect across Oracle and multi-cloud programmes, owning end-to-end technical design and handover
• Elicit and translate requirements into viable, cost-effective designs for stakeholders
• Produce solution proposals, options papers, and business cases for governance review
• Lead architecture assurance and design authority reviews ensuring security and resilience
• Define reusable solution patterns and reference architectures for Oracle workloads
• Manage technical risk throughout the lifecycle with mitigation plans
• Collaborate with programme managers to preserve solution integrity during delivery
• Support pre-sales with RFP/RFI responses, SOWs, and effort estimation
• Design and deliver HLDs/LLDs for Oracle and multi-cloud infra
• Architect and build OCI Landing Zones and multi-cloud networks, governance, security
• Define multi-cloud integration patterns and hybrid connectivity
• Produce architecture runbooks and run design workshops
• Administer and optimise Oracle DB environments (11g, 12c, 19c and above) on-prem and in cloud
• Manage Oracle DB deployments across OracleDB@Azure/AWS/GCP, performance tuning, patching, backup, capacity planning
• Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM; support Oracle security features (TDE, vault, firewall)
• Administer Oracle EBS (R12.1/R12.2): patching, cloning, upgrades; migrate EBS to cloud
• Lead EBS lifts-and-shifts and re-platforming; manage shared tiers and middleware
• Administer DC exit programmes: discovery, wave planning, cut-over execution
• Deliver database migrations using Data Pump, GoldenGate, RMAN and cloud-native tools
• Assess workloads for cloud readiness and perform TCO/ROI analysis
• Administer Linux environments and optimise Oracle performance
• Automate tasks with IaC (Terraform, Ansible, OCI Resource Manager)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; implement monitoring (OCI/Azure/CloudWatch/Prometheus)
• Automate routine DBA and EBS tasks

Key requirements

• Oracle DB administration (11g, 12c, 19c)
• Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM
• Oracle EBS administration (R12.1/R12.2) with cloning/patching
• EBS migrations to cloud (OCI preferred)
• Oracle GoldenGate or equivalent replication/CDC tools
• OCI Cloud Infrastructure basics and cloud deployments
• Experience with Oracle DB@Azure/AWS/GCP deployments
• Multi-cloud design and landing zone concepts (OCI, Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Hybrid connectivity (FastConnect, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, VPN)
• Terraform and/or Ansible for IaC; OCI Resource Manager
• CI/CD and automation for infra and database changes
• Monitoring/observability tools across cloud environments
• Security posture and landing zone guardrails
• Technical pre-sales support and bid involvement
• Oracle Autonomous DB knowledge (desirable)
• Cloud security architectures aligned to CIS/NCSC (desirable)
• Experience with regulated industries (desirable)
• OCI and hyperscaler certifications (required)
• OCI Architect Associate/Professional and at least one hyperscaler cert (Azure/AWS/GCP)

• Ability to lead across multiple workstreams and vendors
