Compliance Officer – Indices/Benchmark Administration

Overview

As a member of Bloomberg’s global Index Compliance team in London, you ensure regulatory alignment for the BISL benchmark business and related indices. You will apply knowledge of FCA BMR, IOSCO principles, and EU/UK regulation to strengthen governance and controls. This role combines policy drafting, regulatory liaison, and cross‑functional collaboration to support a fast‑moving financial benchmarks platform. Your impact lies in shaping compliant processes and enabling sustainable index offerings across markets.

Responsibilities

• Act as second line of defence within a dynamic business
• Provide advisory compliance services to index business and stakeholders
• Review benchmark methodologies, disclosures, and marketing content for compliance
• Implement and guide controls related to regulatory requirements for benchmarks and indices
• Lead complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders
• Draft responses to regulatory enquiries and manage regulatory relationships
• Monitor regulatory changes across markets and assess product impact
• Draft, update and review compliance policies
• Prepare regulatory and management reports
• Develop and streamline compliance processes
• Plan and conduct training for business stakeholders
• Collaborate with legal to raise the profile of compliance within the business

Key requirements

• Good working knowledge of indices and financial benchmarks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with UK/EU index regulation (BMR) and IOSCO principles
• Experience contributing to policies, procedures, and regulatory reporting
• Analytical mindset with ability to streamline processes
• Bachelor’s Degree
