In this placement, you will help deliver rail infrastructure design from feasibility to detailed design, working within a multidisciplinary team to support decarbonisation and modernization. You’ll contribute to high-profile UK and international rail programmes, collaborating across rail systems, electrification, civils, and digital engineering. You’ll develop technical and professional skills through client engagement and innovative solutions. Responsibilities

• Deliver design and engineering across rail projects from feasibility to detailed design
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with rail specialists
• Support production of technical deliverables (drawings, calculations, reports)
• Contribute to major UK and international rail programmes across various clients
• Develop technical and professional skills through client engagement and decarbonisation-focused solutions

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Data Science, or Electrical Engineering
• Analytical skills and ability to research engineering problems
• Knowledge of railway systems and related technologies
