Senior Consultant, Client Onboarding – GFO International

Overview

In this Senior Consultant role within GFO International, you lead complex client onboarding and implementation programs for ultra-high-net-worth clients, coordinating scope, milestones, and governance. You act as the main client-facing implementation contact, ensuring clear expectations and timely delivery while managing risks and escalations. You collaborate with Legal, Product, Relationship Management, and other specialist teams to translate requirements into executable plans and maintain seamless onboarding. You also mentor junior colleagues and contribute to strategic initiatives across the group.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex onboarding and implementation engagements from initiation to completion with defined scope, milestones, and governance
• Serve as the principal implementation contact for clients, managing expectations, decisions, risks, issues, and escalations
• Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication and integrated solution delivery
• Lead end-to-end AML/KYC and account-opening coordination with internal control functions to secure approvals
• Assess complex client and ownership structures to understand risk and KYC requirements
• Coordinate with Legal, Product and Relationship Management on contract-related implementation needs
• Work with Product and specialist teams to validate service requirements and align client expectations
• Lead internal project meetings, drive decisions, assign actions and manage delivery timelines
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies, risks and implementation issues
• Complete and oversee account-opening documentation and maintain accurate records
• Partner with New Business Consultants and transition teams to keep them informed of developments
• Support periodic client reviews and KYC updates
• Provide leadership to Client Project & Implementation Consultants and foster their development
• Lead or contribute to priority projects and strategic initiatives across GFO International

Key requirements

• Significant experience in client onboarding, implementation, client servicing, project delivery or asset servicing in financial services
• Experience in private banking, wealth management, custody, or asset servicing setting would be advantageous
• Proven track record leading complex client implementations from initiation to delivery
• Strong project management and organisational capability with multiple workstreams
• Experience managing AML/KYC and account-opening requirements with Compliance and Risk teams
• Understanding of complex client or ownership structures and KYC requirements
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (Relationship Management, Product, Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Change)
• Good understanding of financial services products, operational servicing models and technology solutions, including reporting and data delivery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with sophisticated clients and senior stakeholders
• Ability to identify and manage implementation risks, resolve issues, and escalate when needed
• Attention to detail in client documentation, regulatory requirements and governance
• Ability to work independently with sound judgement and momentum in evolving client situations
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including international travel
