Senior Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you design, develop and deliver high-quality software for Finastra’s e-billing and payments platforms. You will drive architectural discussions, guide teammates, and collaborate with stakeholders in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll shape modern web applications for financial messaging while mentoring junior engineers. This is a hands-on, impact-focused role at a leading fintech software provider.

Responsibilities

• Produce software meeting defined requirements and quality standards
• Design, develop and implement high-quality, testable code and oversee team members
• Create detailed specifications and support/document software functionality
• Lead delivery to meet project plans and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Provide technology guidance and make independent architectural decisions
• Participate in system design and architecture discussions for technical requirements
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve problems independently
• Contribute to conception, design and implementation of modern web-applications for financial messaging
• Support and mentor junior/mid-level engineers in an Agile environment

Key requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Professional full-stack development experience
• Proficiency in Python, Django, JavaScript (jQuery), MySQL, Linux (Red Hat), Git
• Full-stack capabilities including front-end HTML/CSS
• Experience with AI tools such as Copilot to improve development efficiency
• Strong knowledge of software development best practices and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead others and communicate effectively, with attention to detail
• Nice to have payment systems or banking/financial services domain experience
