Data Management Team Lead

Overview

In this role you lead the Data Management team within the HPC group, ensuring timely, secure delivery of client data from intake to final delivery. You will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate priorities, and oversee data processing and archival tasks while maintaining high data quality. You’ll develop and coach a high-performing team, aligning capabilities with current and future business needs. Responsibilities

• Drive team performance with clear objectives, feedback and development plans
• Build a high-performing, collaborative team with knowledge sharing and succession planning
• Lead reliable, timely delivery of Data Management services to meet client and project commitments
• Coordinate daily workloads and resources from data receipt through processing, QC and final delivery
• Collaborate with Data Management, HPC and other operations teams to meet shared objectives
• Manage stakeholder communications on priorities, risks and operational requirements
• Oversee FTM, STM and TDM processing and data export/archival on LTO, 3590, USB and NAS
• Maintain IBM tape drives and robotic library infrastructure for reliability
• Identify delivery risks and bottlenecks, escalate early and implement improvements
• Continuously improve processes, workflows and documentation for efficiency and handovers
• Forecast media requirements for capacity and budgeting

Key requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience
• Good level of Linux administration skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams
• Enthusiastic learning mindset and flexibility to adapt to change
