Key responsibilities
Delivery ownership
- Take ownership of projects from kick-off, and be accountable for delivery planning, scheduling and execution from that point on.
- Manage a portfolio of concurrent projects across multiple clients, prioritising resources across competing demands.
- Help define project scope, goals and deliverables, and use your own judgement on scope and risk.
- Build detailed project plans covering timelines, milestones and resource allocation.
- Own delivery profitability, tracking budget against actuals and reporting on project health.
- Coordinate QA and user acceptance testing, ensuring work is signed off before release.
Commercial and scope control
- Spot and manage scope creep, put a number on its commercial impact and escalat it to the Account Manager. The Account Manager owns change requests and contract paperwork.
- Provide technical and delivery input to estimates and Statements of Work. The Account Manager owns all client-facing commercial documents.
Working with Account Management
- Give the Account Manager regular, proactive and clearly documented updates, so they can talk to clients confidently without chasing you.
- Flag risks, delays and changes as soon as you identify them.
- Escalate straight away if an issue could affect the client relationship or commercial terms.
- Join client meetings where delivery expertise is needed, supporting the Account Manager.
Reporting and continuous improvement
- Prepare and present project and portfolio health reports to stakeholders.
- Keep thorough, up-to-date project documentation.
- Track project performance and identify where it can improve.
- Improve our internal project management processes, tools and templates, and help embed best practice across the team.
