Associate Geotechnical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead geotechnical projects across the built environment, from initial site investigation to design and construction support. You will work within a multidisciplinary London team, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and developing client relationships to grow the business. You will interpret ground data, develop ground models, and deliver solutions that underpin safe, efficient foundations and structures. This is a hands-on, client-facing opportunity in a well-established consultancy with clear paths to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical projects from initial ground investigation and feasibility through to detailed design and construction
• Undertake and review geotechnical assessments, foundation design, retaining structures and interpretative reports
• Interpret ground investigation data and develop appropriate ground models and engineering solutions
• Provide technical leadership, review engineering deliverables and mentor junior engineers
• Manage project budgets, programmes and resources to ensure successful delivery
• Develop client relationships and contribute to business development, tenders and fee proposals
• Work collaboratively with structural, civil and other engineering disciplines

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
• Significant experience within a geotechnical engineering consultancy
• Chartered status or actively working towards chartership
• Strong technical knowledge of ground engineering, foundation design and ground investigation
• Experience managing projects, supporting junior staff and liaising directly with clients
• Excellent communication, organisational and commercial skills
