I’Ve heard several building surveyors say that Building Surveying would be a wonderfully straight-forward career if not for the buildings.
Unfortunately, they have a habit of ageing, developing defects and occasionally manifesting issues that weren’t mentioned in any previous report. This also happens to the buildings.
I’m working with a major organisation looking for one such Regional Building Surveyor to help oversee and improve a portfolio of properties across the Midlands.
This is a varied role covering project delivery, planned and reactive maintenance, some condition surveys, and general estate improvements across multiple sites. You’ll spend time both on-site and working from home as required, making sure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You need to have Building Surveying experience (obviously), a solid understanding of building pathology and construction projects, and you’d ideally be MRICS or MCIOB chartered too, but that’s not a dealbreaker. You should also have experience of working client-side already, adept at handling both consultants and contractors as necessary.
In return you’ll join a company offering loads of autonomy, long-term stability and the chance to have an impact on a significant property portfolio.
