Job Description:

We are working with a boutique private equity firm hiring a Fund Finance Manager as it prepares for its second fund.

Its first fund is already invested across platforms in Portugal, Spain, Denmark and the UK. You will review those businesses’ financial performance, prepare quarterly valuations and work with the Head of Finance on the next fund and co-investment vehicles.

You will also be responsible for the fund administrator’s output, capital calls, distributions and the annual fund audit. Around 70% of the position covers fund finance, with 30% supporting the management company and GP entities.

For a Fund Accountant, this brings portfolio analysis, valuations and new fund work into the same role. For someone moving from fund audit, it means joining the manager and taking responsibility for the reporting and processes you have been reviewing.

The team is small. You will work directly with the Head of Finance across both the existing fund and the preparations for its successor.

The role

  • Prepare quarterly valuation packs and review portfolio company management accounts and KPIs.
  • Support the second fund and co-investment vehicle set-up, including equalisation, fee calculations and financial responses to investor due diligence.
  • Review the administrator’s NAVs, capital accounts, management fees and carried interest calculations, following through on discrepancies and deadlines.
  • Manage capital calls, distributions, investor allocations and cash forecasting.
  • Run the fund audit, prepare financial sections of investor reports and coordinate regulatory and tax filings with advisers.
  • Support corporate month-end reviews, fee and intercompany reconciliations, budgets, cash flow forecasts and FCA returns

The person

  • Experience working as a fund accountant or auditing funds in practice. First-time movers from practice are welcome; direct fund audit experience is essential for that route.
  • A sound understanding of fund accounting and financial reporting.
  • An interest in reviewing portfolio company performance and preparing valuations.
  • Someone who checks the detail, raises questions and follows issues through to resolution.
