We are seeking an experienced CSW – Senior Social Worker / Advanced Practitioner – 0-25 Disabilities (Grade J) – Social Care Quali for a two-week contract within a statutory Children’s Social Care setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled social worker with specialist experience supporting children with disabilities and their families.

The CSW – Senior Social Worker / Advanced Practitioner – 0-25 Disabilities (Grade J) – Social Care Quali will provide a comprehensive, effective and integrated social work service within a Resilience framework. The role involves responding to complex situations, managing risk and ensuring children and families receive timely support in line with statutory guidance and council responsibilities.
The position offers hybrid working, with attendance in the office and visits required approximately one to two times per week. The salary or pay rate has not been provided for this vacancy.
Candidate Responsibilities – CSW – Senior Social Worker / Advanced Practitioner – 0-25 Disabilities (Grade J) – Social Care Quali
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate safeguarding and permanence measures in complex cases.
- Work autonomously while managing higher levels of risk effectively.
- Provide expert social work practice to children with disabilities and their families.
- Support, mentor and guide less experienced social workers.
- Deputise for the line manager when required or when delegated by the Head of Service.
- Take a lead role in a specialist area of work in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure children are supported to reach their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with relevant professionals and services to achieve positive outcomes.
Candidate Requirements – CSW – Senior Social Worker / Advanced Practitioner – 0-25 Disabilities (Grade J) – Social Care Quali
- Professional Social Work qualification and substantial post-qualifying experience.
- Proven experience working within a Children’s Disability Team.
- Experience in a statutory Children’s Social Care environment.
- Strong assessment, safeguarding, permanence and risk-management skills.
- Ability to practise at an advanced level in complex situations.
- A Practice Educator Award is desirable; an expectation may apply to achieve this within the first year of employment.
