About the role

Are you passionate about improving safeguarding outcomes and making a real difference across a whole system? We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative leader to manage the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB).

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of adult safeguarding, bringing together partners from local government, health, police, housing, probation and the voluntary sector to drive improvement, learning and accountability. You’ll support the Independent Chair, lead the Board’s business programme and help ensure local safeguarding arrangements are effective, ambitious and focused on the people we support.

For more information or to chat about this opportunity please contact Fran Marshall, Service Director Quality Assurance, Practice and Safeguarding, at fran.marshall@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

Interviews will be held in person on 23 and 30 November.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

About you

You’ll be a strategic thinker with excellent partnership, communication and influencing skills. You will have experience of safeguarding, governance, quality assurance or system leadership, and be confident working with senior leaders across organisational boundaries.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Turn learning and insight into action.
  • Analyse complex information and provide clear recommendations.
  • Lead, support and challenge partners to improve outcomes.
  • Build effective relationships across a complex system.
  • Keep the experiences of adults at risk at the centre of everything they do.

A relevant degree-level qualification is essential. Experience in safeguarding, social care, health, governance or a related field would be highly valued. We welcome applications from candidates with transferable leadership, partnership and improvement experience, even if they haven’t worked within a Safeguarding Adults Board before
