Subcontract Procurement Coordinator
Vickerstock are recruiting a Subcontract Procurement Coordinator for an established engineering and offsite manufacturing business delivering projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe. This is an exciting time to join an organisation building on an already established delivery record and a huge growth trajectory.
This role will suit someone who enjoys keeping a busy process organised: getting information from subcontractors, following up outstanding quotations and making sure the commercial team has everything needed to progress an appointment.
Working closely with quantity surveying, design and project teams, you’ll coordinate subcontractor onboarding and support the tender process from initial enquiry through to selection.
The role
- Coordinate subcontractor onboarding, obtaining compliance documents and following up internal approvals.
- Maintain the approved subcontractor database, including capabilities, capacity and document expiry dates.
- Identify potential subcontractors and help prepare tender enquiry lists.
- Compile and issue tender packs using information supplied by the QS, design and project teams.
- Track responses, follow up outstanding quotations and coordinate clarifications and changes.
- Arrange tender meetings, circulate minutes and record agreed actions.
- Prepare tender-return schedules showing prices, exclusions, qualifications and missing information.
- Obtain revised quotations and assemble complete records for QS review and pre-award approval.
You’ll take ownership of keeping the process moving, with commercial evaluation, negotiation and appointment decisions remaining with the QS and authorised management team.
What you’ll bring
You may currently work in procurement administration, subcontract coordination or commercial support within construction, engineering or building services.
You’ll need strong organisational skills, confidence communicating with subcontractors and the attention to detail to spot missing information and follow it through.
Experience supporting tender enquiries, handling quotations and maintaining procurement records would be particularly relevant, alongside good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
The opportunity
You’ll join a growing engineering business where your work will directly support commercial and project delivery, with the opportunity to develop your experience in subcontract procurement. Joining the team at this point will give you early access to the undoubted career opportunities that will arise in the near future.
