NSL- Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you will contribute to delivering secure software solutions for national security clients, shaping backend systems and data processing capabilities. You will collaborate with a cross‑functional team to design, code, test, and document software, while mentoring junior developers and working on AWS cloud infrastructure. You’ll operate in an inclusive, agile environment that values merit and community engagement, with a clear impact on national security outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and document software as part of an information/communications system
• Provide development effort estimates from specifications
• Focus on data processing tasks
• Work with AWS cloud infrastructure
• Mentor junior developers and provide oversight where applicable
• Analyze code defects and deliver timely fixes

Key requirements

• Back-end programming languages: Java, C++, Node.JS, Python, C
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and help clients achieve their goals
• Aspiration to learn new skills
• Knowledge of cloud engineering such as AWS, Docker, Microservices (desirable)
