Senior Software Engineer – Rust (No Rust required)

Overview

In this role you will build scalable backend systems for a fast-growing UK defense startup. You will join a technically focused team that values deep engineering judgment, with flexibility to work as a pure backend or full-stack contributor. The stack includes Rust, TypeScript, and React on the frontend, with emphasis on high-throughput, event-driven designs. You’ll operate in a hands-on environment that rewards technical excellence and impact, including equity participation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services (Rust)
• Contribute to product-focused architecture decisions
• Collaborate with frontend/other teams to deliver integrated features
• Support scalable, high-throughput systems and event-driven components
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews
