Staff Data Scientist

Overview

In this role you will help Airwallex make strategic decisions through rigorous analysis and data storytelling. You will lead and mentor the data science team, partnering with cross-functional teams to steer investment choices and product direction. You will build forecasts, monitor key metrics, and scale analytics into robust decision systems. You will work with data science as a strategic capability, focusing on impactful, scalable solutions. Responsibilities

• Uplevel the data science team through mentorship and leadership on complex analyses
• Act as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams to influence strategy and investments
• Apply quantitative analysis, forecasting, and data storytelling to answer business questions
• Define goals, build forecasts, and monitor key metrics across the organization
• Evolve data science into scalable systems of decision support with robust analytical approaches
• Develop systems of decision and action that guide product behavior and business outcomes
• Architect and govern AI analytics harness, including evaluation and governance components

Key requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience
• Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in a quantitative field
• Experience communicating analytical results to leadership to influence strategy
• Experience providing technical mentorship in data science
• Expert-level SQL, Python, and/or R
