Compliance Manager

Overview

In this Compliance Manager role, you will lead a small team responsible for all housing compliance areas (gas, electrics, water, fire, lifts and asbestos) to safeguard residents and support Crawley Homes’ safety and regulatory ambitions. You’ll maintain policies, report to governance bodies and the Regulator of Social Housing, and drive assurance through audits and data. The role sits at the heart of the council’s journey to align with the Regulator’s standards and achieve C1 status. It offers partnership with contractors and cross‑functional teams to improve service delivery and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small compliance team across gas, electrics, water, fire, lifts and asbestos
• Liaise with principal contractors and partners to ensure sustained KPIs and accurate compliance data
• Maintain compliance policies and collaborate with Policy and Engagement teams
• Provide compliance reporting through internal governance channels and to the Regulator of Social Housing
• Support scoping and fieldwork for internal compliance audits to provide organizational assurance

Key requirements

• Experience in managing compliance functions within housing or related sector
• Ability to lead landlord compliance requirements and drive customer-focused service standards
• Proven experience in managing staff
• Willingness to complete training to meet Conduct and Competency Standard if needed
• UK driving licence
• Baseline Personnel Security Standard and DBS checks
