Head of Finance

Overview

In this role you lead the Finance team within Wimborne to ensure timely, accurate financial Reporting and budgeting, while upholding strong internal controls. You will collaborate with Group and Divisional Finance to deliver analysis and governance that supports the business unit’s strategic goals. You will drive continuous improvement, manage year-end processes and statutory reporting, and enable decision-making through clear financial articulation. This is a senior, cross-functional role within a regulated, safety‑critical industry with a strong emphasis on governance and performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with reporting standards
• Lead budgeting and forecast processes and monitor actual vs budget
• Provide financial analysis to Group Finance, Divisional Finance and Senior Director
• Maintain strong governance and internal control environment
• Develop and optimize financial systems and processes
• Support Group Internal Audit with Sarbanes-Oxley testing
• Coordinate year-end external audit and year-end financial statements under FRS
• Lead ONS surveys and other government or legal reporting
• Implement Group KPIs and monitor performance
• Coach and develop the finance team, promote change initiatives
• Lead ad-hoc projects and facilitate project implementation
