Head of Finance

Overview

In this leadership role you will act as the Trust-wide expert on financial planning and organisational improvements. You will partner with senior stakeholders to steer the financial direction and develop business plans for Integrated Clinical Service Units. You provide professional guidance, present business cases to Trust executives, and identify opportunities while flagging risks. You lead a financial management team to deliver robust financial control and demonstrable value for money. You will contribute to ICSU governance and drive Trust-wide productivity, quality and efficiency programmes.

• Salary 88,250 to 100,355 per year

Responsibilities

• Lead financial services for the nominated ICSUs and provide strategic financial leadership
• Manage a financial management team delivering full financial service including reporting and insight to ICSUs
• Ensure robust financial control and value for money across the Trust
• Challenge performance and guide ICSU financial and business directions
• Present financial plans, business cases, and reports to Trust Executive Directors and ICSU boards
• Contribute to Trust-wide programmes on productivity, quality and efficiency

Key requirements

• CCAB or CIMA qualification
• Masters level education or equivalent
• Substantial experience advising senior managers/directors on financial matters
• Experience in operational and strategic financial planning, budgeting, and service costing
• Experience producing varied financial information and analyses
• Desirable: experience leading an NHS finance team
