RF Electromagnetic Warfare Engineer

Overview

In this role you contribute to MBDA’s expanding EW capabilities, working on RF electronic support/attack payloads and their integration across missile and weapon-system levels. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, verify, and support EW solutions for frontline programmes, enabling information superiority and mission effectiveness. The position combines systems engineering with supplier coordination, development-to-production transitions, and in-service EW mission support. You join a collaborative, innovative group at the forefront of defence technology and may travel in support of programmes.

Responsibilities

• Elicit and manage system requirements; perform decomposition and traceability
• Design, integrate and test RF/EW components within missile/weapon-system contexts
• Develop and validate system verification & validation plans
• Oversee hardware transition to production, including environmental and qualification testing
• Support EW mission requirements and in-service support activities
• Manage supplier relationships with support from a Procurement Lead
• Utilise SysML/DOORS/Rhapsody for model-based system engineering
• Develop and use RF performance models to support design decisions

Key requirements

• Knowledge of RF Electronic Support and Attack Systems, including platform integration and through-life support
• Strong technical understanding of RF and electronic systems
• Algorithm design and implementation experience
• Understanding of Integrated Air Defence Systems
• Experience in supplier management
• Systems design engineering skills (requirements, design, integration, test, verification, validation)
• Proficiency in SysML, DOORS and/or Rhapsody
• Experience with RF performance models
• Experience transitioning development hardware to production, including testing and design certification
• Experience with Dstl, ASWC and/or DI
• Willingness to obtain DV clearance
