Finance Manager

Company: Elevation Recruitment Group
Apply for the Finance Manager
Location: Altofts
Job Description:

An opportunity to take ownership, develop a team and make a genuine impact within a successful, owner-managed business.

I’m working with a well-established, financially strong business looking to appoint a Finance Manager to lead its finance function and help shape the next stage of its development.

This is a role that offers something a little different. The business has a straightforward financial structure, a strong balance sheet and a practical approach to reporting. The focus is on having the right person in place to develop the team, improve processes and make the finance function more efficient and effective.

The role:

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, leading and developing the team while improving processes, strengthening controls and identifying opportunities to introduce automation.

Reporting directly to a senior operational leader with a finance background, you’ll have the autonomy to make decisions, shape how the function operates and develop a team with plenty of potential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the finance team.
  • Oversee monthly management accounts and group reporting.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage year-end accounts, audit, VAT and wider statutory requirements.
  • Oversee credit control and working capital processes.
  • Review existing systems and processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and introduce automation.
  • Develop team capability, improve consistency and build a more collaborative working environment.

What we’re looking for:

You’ll be an experienced finance professional with a strong grounding in management accounts and financial control. Just as importantly, you’ll be a confident, hands-on people manager who enjoys developing others, improving processes and bringing structure to a finance function.

This would suit someone who wants to take ownership, have the freedom to make improvements and see the tangible impact of their work, rather than simply move into a more senior title.

The package:

  • Salary up to £55,000, depending on experience.
  • Finish at 3pm every Friday.
  • Life insurance and employer pension contribution.
  • Financially stable, cash-rich business.
  • Autonomy to lead and improve the finance function.

The role is fully office-based in Normanton.
