About the Role
Our client, a rapidly expanding tech company specializing in consumer applications, is seeking a talented Senior Mobile Application Developer with expertise in iOS and Swift to join their innovative product team in East London, Eastern Cape . This role is integral to designing, developing, and launching high-quality, user-centric mobile applications for the iOS platform. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio of successful iOS applications, a deep understanding of Swift and the iOS SDK, and a passion for creating cutting-edge mobile solutions. You will work closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to bring exciting new features to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain advanced applications for the iOS platform using Swift.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented Swift code.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
- Implement and consume RESTful APIs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS development trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Contribute to the overall architecture and technical direction of the mobile applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development, with a primary focus on iOS.
- Strong proficiency in Swift programming language and deep understanding of the iOS SDK.
- Experience with iOS frameworks such as UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Data, and Core Animation.
- Proficiency in consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON data.
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices for mobile apps.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
