Director of Product Management, Observability

Overview

As Director of Product Management for Streams, you own the data ingestion and telemetry pipeline end-to-end, leading the PM team to make Elastic the easiest platform to bring data to for every solution and customer. You define strategy, roadmap, and KPIs for ingestion, processing, and routing, and you enable cross-functional teams to deliver self-service data ingestion. You drive impact by aligning customers, engineers, and partners around a shared service that scales with user needs and platform adoption. This is a high-visibility role shaping data infrastructure across Observability, Security, and Search.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy and roadmap for data collection, ingestion, processing and routing, plus integrations framework
• Define and track KPIs for product and feature adoption
• Partner with Observability, Security, and Search leaders to provide a shared service
• Make data ingestion self-service with time-to-first-data in minutes
• Lead a distributed PM team to deliver measurable outcomes
• Prioritize roadmap through engagement with customers, internal teams, and the community
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to scope and define features
• Enable sales, marketing, and partners with clear messaging and positioning

Key requirements

• 10+ years in product management
• 4+ years leading PM teams in data infrastructure, observability, or data pipelines
• Deep technical fluency in telemetry ingest: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, log processing, routing, agent management
• Experience shipping SaaS products with usage-based pricing
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with the Elastic Stack is a plus
