Business Risk Officer – Vice President

Overview

In this role you will plan, execute and report control testing for Markets Trading and Sales, guiding junior team members and monitoring delivery. You will challenge control design and support remediation while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across Front Office and risk functions. You will present clear testing results to stakeholders and provide Markets controls expertise across all three lines of defence. The role is embedded in a global programme shaping risk-based controls testing at scale.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report results of control testing
• Supervise and coach junior team members
• Monitor testing programme timelines and escalate obstacles
• Maintain high standards and best practices in testing
• Challenge stakeholders on design and effectiveness of controls
• Support remediation activities identified through testing
• Maintain stakeholder relationships across Front Office, Markets Conduct Risk, Compliance and Operational Risk
• Present impactful summaries to stakeholders
• Provide Markets controls SME expertise across all three lines of defence

Key requirements

• Experience in Front Office controls testing, internal or external audit or similar reviews
• Understanding of Markets activities and relevant regulations
• Knowledge of Market Operational and Compliance risks and related controls
• Strong skills in control design assessment and effectiveness testing
• Experience coaching and developing team members
• Experience overseeing teams to ensure rigorous, detailed execution
• Track record of building senior stakeholder relationships and providing constructive challenge
