IT Asset & Procurement Manager

Overview

As IT Asset & Procurement Manager, you will own ITAM, SAM, licensing and the full hardware-software lifecycle while aligning with procurement and governance. You’ll improve asset visibility, license compliance and cost optimisation across a large technology estate, working with cross-functional teams to drive supplier performance and governance. This role offers genuine ownership of asset management, licensing, and contracts within a transformation-focused environment. You’ll contribute to scalable processes and reporting to support budgeting and strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the full IT Asset Management (ITAM) lifecycle
• Manage hardware asset management across laptops, desktops, servers and infrastructure
• Oversee Software Asset Management (SAM) including licensing, renewals and optimisation
• Manage Microsoft and Microsoft 365 licensing
• Monitor SaaS subscriptions, cloud services and software utilisation
• Maintain CMDB accuracy and governance
• Oversee asset procurement, deployment, refresh, retirement and disposal
• Support hardware refresh programmes and lifecycle planning
• Manage IT suppliers, vendors and third-party providers; negotiate contracts and renewals
• Produce asset reports and dashboards; track spend and budgeting with Finance/Procurement
• Support ITSM/ITIL aligned processes and wider IT transformation initiatives
• Ensure compliance with software audits and licensing reviews
• Support multiple site asset management and governance across the organisation

Key requirements

• Experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM)
• Knowledge of hardware lifecycle management and software licensing
• Experience with Microsoft Licensing and Microsoft 365 licensing
• Familiarity with CMDB tools and ITSM practices (ITIL)
• Strong supplier and contract management experience
• Analytical mindset for licence utilisation and cost optimisation
• Procurement experience and budgeting/forecasting
• Awareness of audits and compliance processes
• Experience with ServiceNow and/or similar platforms (advantageous)
