This is an opportunity to join a hugely successful global manufacturing business operating within a highly regulated, technically complex COMAH environment.

Procurement Heads are seeking a Quality & Compliance Manager to take ownership of the company’s Integrated Management System and drive compliance, governance and continuous improvement activities across the business.

This is not a traditional quality role focused solely on product investigations or laboratory activities. As Quality & Compliance Manager, you’ll take ownership of the company’s Integrated Management System, driving ISO compliance, governance, audit readiness and continuous improvement across the business. This is a broad, business-facing role focused on management systems and regulatory compliance rather than traditional product quality, offering the opportunity to work closely with operational, technical and senior leadership teams to strengthen processes, develop systems and support the organisation’s continued growth.

Role of the Quality & Compliance Manager:

Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll take ownership of the company’s quality and compliance framework, ensuring management systems accurately reflect operational practices whilst supporting the business through an evolving regulatory landscape.

Working closely with stakeholders across Operations, Manufacturing, Technical, Engineering and Leadership teams, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and developing ISO-accredited systems, coordinating audits, managing compliance requirements and driving process improvements across multiple sites.

You’ll have significant visibility across the organisation and play a critical role in ensuring governance, compliance and operational excellence standards continue to evolve.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing the Integrated Management System across the business
  • Maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Managing external certification, customer and regulatory audits
  • Owning management system documentation and ensuring alignment with operational practices
  • Coordinating investigations and corrective actions relating to quality and compliance issues
  • Monitoring compliance obligations and supporting regulatory reporting requirements
  • Managing key business, ESG and compliance KPI reporting activities
  • Working cross-functionally to improve processes, governance and audit readiness
  • Supporting future compliance developments and implementation of additional standards
  • Driving continuous improvement and further digitalisation of management systems
  • Developing strong relationships with operational teams, technical specialists and external auditors
  • Acting as the central point of expertise for quality systems, governance and compliance activities

Ideal Quality & Compliance Manager

We’re looking for an individual who combines strong management systems expertise with the credibility, influence and operational understanding required to thrive within a complex manufacturing environment.

You will likely bring:

  • Proven experience managing ISO-based quality and compliance systems
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • Experience within a regulated manufacturing, COMAH, scientific or process-led environment where compliance and operational governance are business-critical
  • The ability to understand and challenge technical investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Exposure to customer, certification and regulatory audit processes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple departments and sites
  • A continuous improvement mindset and passion for developing systems and processes
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving capabilities
  • The credibility to work effectively with operational teams, technical specialists and external auditors alike
  • A scientific or technical qualification would be advantageous but is not essential

This position would suit individuals currently working as a Quality Manager, Compliance Manager, IMS Manager, Management Systems Manager, HSEQ Manager or Quality & Compliance Lead seeking a highly visible role within a complex and rewarding manufacturing environment.

  • Company pension scheme (5% individual contribution, 10% company contribution)
  • 25 days’ annual leave, in addition to public holidays, this grows by a day a year until 29 days
