Role Description
The Commercial Solar and Renewable Energy Sales Representative is an on-site role based in Kirkcaldy. This position is responsible for identifying and qualifying commercial prospects, conducting site visits, and presenting tailored solar and renewable energy solutions to new and existing customers. The representative will prepare proposals and quotations, manage sales pipelines, and follow up consistently to convert leads into closed sales. Daily activities include delivering sales presentations, collaborating with internal teams on pricing and product availability, and providing proactive customer service throughout the sales cycle. The role also involves staying informed about solar and renewable energy products, participating in training and industry updates, and supporting the promotion of SM Electrical Supplies’ offerings in the local market.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Sales and Sales Prospecting skills to identify opportunities and drive revenue growth.
- Candidates should possess effective Sales Presentation skills to explain solar and renewable energy solutions clearly and persuasively.
- Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to build trust, handle inquiries, and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Candidates should possess Training experience or the ability to support product and solution training for customers and internal teams.
- Experience in commercial solar, renewable energy, or electrical wholesale is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities are required.
- Comfort working on-site in Kirkcaldy and visiting customer locations as needed.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally for client meetings is preferred.
- Previous B2B sales experience and familiarity with CRM tools or sales tracking systems are advantageous.
