Our client in Derby is looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 Driver to join their busy transport team. You will be responsible for delivering company products to customers across the UK, ensuring loads are correct, secure and delivered safely and on time.
This is a varied driving role where you will be expected to maintain high standards of vehicle safety, complete all required paperwork and provide a professional service to customers.
The role operates
5 days from 7, Monday to Sunday , with start times varying depending on operational requirements. Your weekly rota and start time will be provided one week in advance, so flexibility is essential.
As the new Class 1 HGV Driver, you will:Deliver company products safely and efficiently to customers across the UKCheck that the correct products have been loaded before leaving siteEnsure products are secure and correctly maintained throughout the journeyComplete delivery paperwork, returns documentation and other required records accuratelyCarry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects to the Transport Management teamComplete all required pre-start and end-of-shift proceduresMaintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentationEnsure deliveries and returns are completed in line with company proceduresMaintain safe and professional driving standards at all timeCommunicate effectively with customers, colleagues and Transport ManagementComply with drivers’ hours, tachograph and relevant road transport legislationSupport the wider transport operation with additional reasonable duties when required
Main Requirements for This RoleValid LGV Class 1 / C+E driving licenceCurrent Driver CPC qualificationPrevious Class 1 HGV driving experienceGood geographical knowledge of the UKGood communication and customer service skillsStrong understanding of vehicle safety and daily vehicle checksReliable and professional approach to workGood attention to detail when checking loads and completing paperworkFlexible approach to working days and start times
