We deliver projects for a diverse range of sectors including education, industrial facilities, critical infrastructure, data centres, and high-security government environments.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint an Intermediate to Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team in Dartford.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who enjoys managing multiple projects simultaneously and working closely with clients, operational teams, and subcontractors. You’ll play a key role in protecting commercial interests, driving project profitability, and ensuring successful project delivery from contract award through to final account.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and negotiating subcontract terms and conditions.
- Identifying and challenging unfair contractual provisions.
- Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment.
- Managing the payment process and ensuring prompt collection of outstanding monies.
- Identifying, pricing, and negotiating project variations.
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
- Managing and submitting Extension of Time (EOT) applications.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Producing monthly cost reports, including accruals and work-in-progress reporting.
- Working closely with Contracts Managers, installation teams, and the Accounts Department to ensure accurate project forecasting and performance monitoring.
About You
We’re looking for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor with strong contract knowledge and a proactive approach to project management.
Essential experience:
- Demonstrable Quantity Surveying experience within the UK construction industry.
- Experience working for either:
- A Main Contractor; or
- A Subcontractor specialising in Groundworks, Landscaping, or Fencing.
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts.
- Experience managing multiple lower-value projects simultaneously.
- Experience working on projects typically ranging from £50,000 to £1 million in value.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and client-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience within fencing, groundworks, external works, or landscaping sectors.
- Professional qualifications or degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS accreditation not essential).
