Product Owner – Nexia

Overview

In this role you will lead the Nexia platform, shaping digital care pathways and administration for NHS eye services. You will own the vision, roadmap, and backlog, guiding a blended team of in-house developers and an external engineering partner. You drive high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and decisive decisions to move from concept to production. You will collaborate across stakeholders to balance business needs with technical realities, delivering a scalable, care-focused digital platform.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, roadmap and backlog for Nexia and be the day-to-day product decision maker for a blended delivery team
• Lead the development of Nexia, coordinating between external partners and in-house developers
• Translate complex clinical and operational processes into build-ready requirements
• Write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria and ensure delivery momentum
• Manage stakeholders and communications to balance business needs with technical constraints across APIs, integrations, cloud platforms and data
• Support go-live and rollout by guiding prioritization and delivery milestones

Key requirements

• Experience as a Product Owner or equivalent on complex digital products
• Proven ability to work with external development partners and agile teams
• Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, cloud platforms and data
• Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
• People leadership or team development experience
