Senior Java Developer – Credit Risk Technology, Vice President

Overview

As a Senior Java Developer at Citi, you will lead the full software lifecycle to deliver advanced risk management solutions for Derivatives and Credit Risk. You’ll work within the Derivatives Credit Risk Technology Team to enhance exposure processing, data ingestion from 50+ sources, and margin/ collateral calculations at scale. You’ll mentor mid-level engineers, enforce solid design patterns, and drive adoption of modern tech while aligning with Citi’s architectural standards. This role offers impact on risk metrics, regulatory alignment, and opportunities to take on leadership. You’ll collaborate with global teams to solve complex, data-heavy problems driving risk-aware decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end technology projects across concept, design, development, testing and deployment.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure adherence to architectural patterns and coding standards.
• Collaborate with a global team of engineers, analysts, DevOps, and support staff.
• Evolve risk processing software infrastructure by adopting new technologies within Citi’s guidelines.
• Coach and mentor junior developers to raise engineering capabilities.
• Assess risk in decision making and ensure compliance with laws and Citi policies.

Key requirements

• Core Java with experience in concurrency
• Experience in Capital Markets; derivatives and risk management knowledge
• Agile software development with a strong emphasis on TDD
• Understanding of Java internals (class loading, memory management)
• Ability to build tooling for development and production teams
