are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to join an established Energy from Waste power station in Leeds.This is an excellent opportunity to join the Plant Management Team, taking responsibility for driving health and safety standards, promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance across the facility.Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in influencing behaviours, supporting operational teams and embedding safe working practices throughout the site.The role will involve:Managing and maintaining the site’s Health & Safety Management SystemsPromoting a positive safety culture and embedding behavioural safety across the facilityEnsuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and internal policiesSupporting the management of Safe Systems of Work, Permit to Work procedures and CDM regulationsManaging health and safety requirements for contractors, particularly during planned outages and periods of high contractor activityConducting site inspections, risk assessments and internal and external safety auditsInvestigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actionsReviewing safety performance data, identifying trends and developing improvement plansProviding guidance, coaching and support to managers and operational personnel on health and safety mattersEnsuring compliance with ISO 45001 standards and supporting continuous improvement initiativesTo be considered for this role, you should have:Experience in a similar Health & Safety role within Energy from Waste, power generation or another highly regulated process environment – paper production, cement, steel or chemical productionA relevant health and safety qualification, ideally NEBOSHStrong knowledge of Health & Safety Management Systems and ISO 45001Experience managing contractors and overseeing safety during maintenance activities or plant outagesA good understanding of CDM regulations, Permit to Work systems and Safe Systems of WorkExperience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigationsThe ability to understand engineering, machinery and operational risks associated with a power generation facilityStrong leadership, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to embed a positive safety cultureWhat’s on offer:Competitive basic salary depending on experiencePerformance-related bonusPrivate medical and dental coverCompany pension with 6% employer contributionLife assuranceAdditional employee benefits and discount schemesOngoing training and professional developmentA key management role within an established Energy from Waste facilityFor further information or to apply, please contact
