Finance Director

Overview

In this Finance Director role, you will lead the finance function within a profitable manufacturing SME, reporting to the MD. You will own financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, tax, audit and controls while guiding a five-person team. You will partner with the leadership team to boost profitability, margins and cash conversion, and influence strategic decisions at board level. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape financial processes and drive operational efficiency in a growth-focused business. You’ll join a fast-moving environment where commercial partnering and financial discipline directly enable performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Manage cash, treasury, tax, audit and internal controls
• Lead a finance team of five
• Provide commercial insight to MD and leadership team
• Support operational efficiencies and profitability improvements
• Influence board-level decisions and strategic direction
• Balance strong financial control with business partnering

Key requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Senior finance leadership experience in SME manufacturing or similar
• Strong commercial acumen with product costing, margin improvement and cash management
• Proven ability to lead a finance team, improve processes and influence senior stakeholders
