Field Service Engineer

Overview

In this role you will service, repair, install and commission packaging machinery across the UK and Ireland. You’ll diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on technically advanced equipment and provide on-site support to customers. You’ll work with automation and control systems, while maintaining thorough service records. The opportunity combines hands-on field work with ongoing training and career development in a reputable packaging machinery business.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, install and commission packaging machinery
• Travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding and diagnostics
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support
• Work with automation, controls, electrical and pneumatic systems
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers
• Complete service reports and maintain documentation

Key requirements

• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience with packaging machinery, automation or capital equipment
• Confident fault finding and diagnosing technical issues
• Experience with PLCs, automation and control systems would be advantageous
• Able to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Proactive, professional and able to work independently on-site
