Client Manager

Overview

In this position you will manage a diverse client portfolio within an established Greater Manchester practice, delivering statutory and management accounts and tax work. You will own client relationships, support and develop junior staff, and collaborate with senior teammates to sustain high-quality service. This role combines technical accounting with people leadership in a supportive, collaborative environment. You’ll work with Xero and Sage to drive accurate, timely reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of statutory accounts under FRS 102 Section 1A
• Preparation of management accounts
• Corporation tax and personal tax work
• VAT returns and general VAT matters
• Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed to a high standard
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients
• Supporting, training and managing junior members of the team
• Using accounting software including Xero and Sage
• Working closely with senior members of the practice on high-quality client service delivery

Key requirements

• ACA/ICAEW or ACCA qualified
• 3–5 years’ post-qualified experience in an accountancy practice
• Strong technical background across statutory accounts, management accounts and tax, plus VAT understanding
• Proficient in Excel and accounting packages such as Xero and Sage
• Experience supervising, training or managing junior staff
