Overview

In this role you will oversee the commercial delivery of a portfolio of ~15 live contracts within a cross-sector programme. You will ensure contractual obligations are met, provide commercial guidance, and support effective contract management across ongoing projects. The role involves acting as the first point of contact for commercial queries, advising on issues, and mentoring junior commercial staff. You will manage stakeholder engagement, escalate risks, and report on progress, risks, and dependencies. This is an opportunity to shape procurement delivery in a regulated, defence-focused environment and contribute to high‑impact programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 15 live contracts.
• Monitor contractual obligations, milestones and deliverables.
• Act as the first point of contact for commercial queries.
• Provide initial commercial advice, issue triage and resolution.
• Support and mentor junior commercial staff.
• Manage stakeholder engagement and escalate commercial risks.
• Maintain contract tracking and report progress, risks and dependencies.
• Provide recommendations on matters requiring senior intervention.

Key requirements

• Strong procurement and contract management experience.
• Experience managing multiple contracts within a complex programme.
• Excellent commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to mentor colleagues and resolve contractual issues.
• SC security clearance, as required for the role.
• Experience in defence, nuclear or other regulated programme environments would be advantageous.
