Python Developer

Overview

In this role you will help design and deliver Python-based technology solutions for the front office and Credit Risk Business within Citi’s Wholesale Credit Risk Technology team. You will partner with onshore and offshore teams to build enterprise-scale applications, leveraging Python, FastAPI, and modern AI techniques to support risk management initiatives. The role offers exposure to business and technology initiatives aimed at maintaining Citi’s lead in the Wholesale Credit Risk space. You will work on end-to-end delivery, from development to production support, and influence how risk technology scales with the business.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain enterprise-scale Python applications using FastAPI
• Collaborate with onshore, offshore and matrix teams to implement business solutions
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Kubernetes)
• Investigate issues and provide production support for deployed solutions
• Engage with modern AI/ML techniques (LLMs, RAG, Model Context Protocol)
• Communicate progress to project leadership and stakeholders
• Solve complex technical problems in a financial services context

Key requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on Python and FastAPI development
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with multiple teams
• Ability to work with onshore, offshore and matrix teams
• Experience with AI/ML approaches (LLMs, RAG, Model Context Protocol) is a plus
• Knowledge of the Financial Services industry is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
