We’re looking for a passionate and talented Chef to join our team at Azimghur Barracks. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary career within a supportive and professional environment, delivering quality food services to military personnel and site customers.
As a Chef, you’ll play a key role in preparing and delivering fresh, high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and customer service. Whether you’re an experienced Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or an established Chef looking for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

- Early Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Late Shift: 11:00am – 8:00pm

What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing and serving high-quality food for breakfast, lunch and dinner services
- Supporting the planning and delivery of varied and engaging menus
- Maintaining excellent food presentation and quality standards
- Ensuring compliance with all food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Managing stock levels and supporting ordering processes
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
- Contributing ideas to improve food offerings and customer satisfaction
- Working collaboratively with the wider catering team to deliver an exceptional service
- Representing ESS and Compass Group UK & Ireland with professionalism and pride
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Chef, Chef de Partie or similar kitchen role
- A passion for producing great food and delivering excellent customer experiences
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance standards
- Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to obtain one)
- City & Guilds, NVQ Professional Cookery or equivalent culinary qualification desirable
- Ability to work effectively in a busy catering environment
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Flexible approach to working hours and responsibilities
- Experience within contract catering, hospitality, hotels, restaurants or volume catering environments is advantageous
