We are looking for an experienced, passionate and dedicated Registered Manager to lead our established children’s residential home in Medway
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the safety, wellbeing and development of the young people in our care. You will lead, inspire and develop a skilled staff team, whilst maintaining and building upon our strong Ofsted rating.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong, visible leadership to the staff team, fostering a culture of high standards, respect and continuous improvementEnsure full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Ofsted quality standards frameworkDevelop, implement and review individual care plans, risk assessments and placement plans for each young personBuild and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, placing authorities and external professionalsManage budgets, rotas, staffing levels and HR matters including supervision, appraisals and performance managementSafeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times, acting as designated safeguarding leadPrepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, maintaining accurate records and evidence of outcomesDrive quality assurance, undertaking regular audits and implementing learning from incidents and complaintsEssential Requirements
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards, with commitment to complete)Experience as a Home Manager or Deupty ManagerFull understanding of the Children Act 1989, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and relevant legislationEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Desirable
Experience managing a home for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or trauma backgroundsTraining in therapeutic approaches such as PACE, Dyadic Developmental Practice or similarExperience of Ofsted inspections as the Registered ManagerWhat we can offer
