Executive Director Adult Social Care and Health

Overview

In this role you will lead adult social care, public health, prevention, commissioning and whole-life pathways within a brand-new unitary authority. You will drive transformation to bring services and cultures together, creating an integrated health and care system from day one. You will shape the organisation’s culture, ambition and identity while strengthening transitions between children’s and adult services. This is a high-impact, system-level leadership opportunity with partners across NHS, ICS, and the voluntary sector.

Pay / Benefits

• salary: 161,239 – 177,363 plus benefits

Responsibilities

• Lead adult social care, public health, prevention, commissioning and whole-life pathways
• Drive large-scale transformation, service integration and sustainable redesign
• Strengthen transitions between children’s and adult services
• Build influential partnerships across NHS, Integrated Care System, providers and VCFS sectors
• Shape culture, ambition and identity of the new authority
• Contribute to collective leadership and cross-cutting governance
• Engage with elected Members, regulators, partners and communities to maintain trust and political awareness
• Establish and sustain services from day one to deliver integrated, preventative health and care

Key requirements

• Proven senior leader in adult social care, health or related services with statutory responsibilities
• Strong track record of transformation and organisational change
• Experience in prevention, early intervention, demand management and sustainable redesign
• Ability to strengthen whole-life pathways and service transitions
• Compelling system leadership and cross-boundary partnership skills
