Company: Freud Communications Limited
Apply for the Social Media Manager
Location: London
Job Description:

Freuds is a leading communications agency bringing together specialists across insight, strategy, creativity, communications and production to create work that delivers genuine impact.

With 250 colleagues across London, New York and Dubai, we combine expertise in communications planning, social media, content, stakeholder engagement, media activation, filmmaking and events. We believe in work with purpose, meaning and measurable results.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Manager (Senior Associate) to join our growing Social team, working across a mix of corporate and consumer clients.

This role is for someone who loves social media but is equally passionate about the thinking behind it. You’ll be naturally curious about audiences, confident advising clients and skilled at turning challenges into effective social strategies and campaigns.

You’ll lead client workstreams from brief to delivery, build strong client relationships and collaborate with colleagues across strategy, creative, PR, design, production and paid media. While you don’t need to create content yourself, you’ll have a strong understanding of social-first storytelling and what great content looks like across different platforms.

You’ll also be confident using data and audience insights to strengthen recommendations, optimise performance and identify opportunities for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day delivery across multiple client accounts and projects.
  • Build trusted relationships with client contacts and act as a confident point of counsel.
  • Interrogate briefs to identify the underlying business, communications and audience challenge.
  • Translate client requirements into clear plans, scopes and deliverables.
  • Manage timelines, priorities and expectations effectively.
  • Present recommendations, strategies, plans and results with confidence.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing programmes and grow social workstreams.
  • Connect client objectives, audience insight and platform opportunities to create effective social recommendations.
  • Understand the role of social within wider communications and PR programmes.
  • Adapt strategies across corporate and consumer audiences, platforms and objectives.
  • Stay informed on platform developments, audience behaviours and emerging trends.
  • Support social strategies, campaign planning and new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of established and emerging social platforms.

Project Delivery

  • Lead projects from brief through to execution, ensuring delivery against scope, timing and quality standards.
  • Manage multiple fast-paced workstreams simultaneously.
  • Develop clear briefs for creative, production and specialist teams.
  • Review work and provide constructive feedback throughout the development process.
  • Support budget management, project administration and internal tracking.
  • Anticipate risks and identify solutions proactively.
  • Support and mentor junior team members.

Insights & Reporting

  • Lead client reporting and provide interpretation beyond the numbers.
  • Translate social performance data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Understand social KPIs and their relationship to broader communications objectives.
  • Use analytics, social listening and audience insight to shape strategy and content planning.

Skills & Experience

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in social media, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Strong account and project management skills.
  • Experience leading projects from brief to delivery.
  • A solid understanding of social media’s role within integrated communications.
  • Experience across corporate and/or consumer brands.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills.
  • Experience briefing and managing creative development processes.
  • Confidence using insights and analytics to improve performance.
  • Understanding of both organic and paid social.
  • Strong organisational, stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
  • Curiosity, commercial awareness and enthusiasm for emerging platforms and digital culture.
