Why Join Us

We’re looking for the right person to join our care home team.

ABC Care and Education, a family-owned company with a home in the rural side of Carnforth, is seeking a full-time Senior or Experienced Children’s Support Worker to join our team:

Our home accommodates three amazing children aged 10-12 who deserve consistency, care, and adults who truly believe in them.

We Believe in Making a Difference

Consistent set of value, attitudes and personal qualities are essential in this industry. The right candidate must be caring, compassionate and empathic, bringing maturity, resilience and self-awareness to the role and maintaining a calm patient and steady presence even under pressure.

Someone who is honest, respectful and open.

A “firm but fair” approach, along with creativity, flexibility and a positive encouraging outlook.

Every child in our care should look back at their time with us and know, without a doubt, that we believed in them and gave them the tools to thrive.

  • We’re a Family Team

A friendly, kind and “like part of the family” candidate who is also fun, active and good to be around with great understanding, approachable and genuinely interested in our young people would be the ideal fit for our team.

It’s important for us that all our young people feel safe and listened with fairness by all our team members, ensuring children’s view shape decisions and daily practice.

Join a team that truly cares about the children. We’re proud of our commitment, delivering the best quality of care in a non-judgmental environment with deep respect for children’s dignity, identity and lived experience.

We Invest in You

Whether you are looking to develop into a senior role, or you are an experienced practitioner who wants to focus on high-quality care, we will support you.

While a Level 4 in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner or equivalent is essential, we will support you in completing it during employment if you do not already have one.

Level 5 is desirable for senior applicants but not required.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who can work full-time with sleep-ins.

Depending on experience, the role include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager and the Deputy Manager daily
  • Taking on senior duties and leading shifts
  • Contributing to care planning, recording, and quality monitoring
  • Supporting and mentoring staff

In all cases, you will play a key role in ensuring high standards of emotional, physical, and therapeutic care are consistently delivered.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working in residential children’s care
  • A calm, organised and reliable practitioner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Someone confident working as part of a small team
  • A genuine commitment to children’s wellbeing
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience and responsibilities
  • Annual pay review
  • Full induction and ongoing training
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Meals provided
  • On-demand pay

Please note: our home is rural, so access to your own vehicle is necessary.

We are committed to safeguarding and follow safer recruitment practice. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and thorough references.

Don’t just make a living. Develop your career and make a difference.
